Debris such as trees, limbs, leaves and grass can be placed in the middle of the street in a pile for the city to dispose of. Please do not pile in the gutter! All other debris must be taken to the County Landfill. If you have a way to haul your own trees, limbs, leaves and grass, the city has set up a site at the City Shop for disposal. This service will be offered until further notice, but please complete your removal process in a timely manner. If you have further questions please call the City Hall at 970-848-3878 ext. 1.
The council meeting for tonight, May 21st is postponed until Tuesday, May 28th.
All recreation activities for today have been cancelled.
When the City Spotlight began its run in the Pioneer a couple of years ago, one of our goals was to use this space to help keep people informed about what's happening at the City. We've found, however, that sometimes an issue is a little bit more layered or complex, and deserves a column of its own for explanation. This week, we would like to take a moment to explain Cross Connection Control and Backflow Protection.
There are few things more exciting than the changing of seasons in Yuma, Colorado. For many of us, the most anticipated season every year is fall and all that comes with it. Of course, in a town like Yuma, which is full of beautiful trees, fall also means it's time for leaves to start changing color and falling!
If you live in Yuma, there's a good chance that sooner or later, you'll have a good amount of leaves in your yard! We'd like to remind everyone about our current leaf policy, and offer some advice for how to handle the falling leaves in your yard.
Hello, everyone, and welcome to this week's edition of the City Spotlight.
Here in Yuma we are blessed with an historic and beautiful feature near the middle of town called Lake Yuma. Lake Yuma provides a beautiful backdrop for weddings, picnics, birthday parties, festivals, and countless walks with friends. It is in all of our best interest to keep Lake Yuma clean and safe for all of these activities and more.
