Main Street Sign Opinion Poll

The City of Yuma City Council would like community involvement in the decision-making process for the
replacement of the sign at Hwy 34 and South Main Street. It was damaged about nine months ago and a
local group has proposed a change of design from the original grey and black granite to a metal “Y” with
the clock placed on top. Community input is essential in ensuring that the new sign reflects the
preferences and values of the residents. Therefore, we are providing three platforms to submit your
vote.

1. To participate and submit your vote electronically, please click on the provided link and follow
the instructions on the platform.  "Main Street Sign Opinion Poll"

2. To cast your vote in person, a ballot box will be provided at City Hall.

3. We also will be providing a ballot form that will be included in your utility bill. This may be
returned to us via USPS or dropped off at City Hall.

Since both options are covered by insurance and will not incur any costs for residents, this is an excellent
opportunity for the community to have a say in the appearance of a significant landmark.

Make sure to share this opportunity with your friends and neighbors to allow us to gather as much input
as possible and make an informed decision for the new sign's design. Community involvement in such
projects can contribute to a stronger sense of ownership and pride in the city's appearance.

Voting starts September 27, 2023 and ends October 9, 2023.
